Seasonal Refresh: Top Fall Organizing Tips

Fall offers an opportunity to get organized before the busyness of the holidays. A clutter-free, cozy space can help you enjoy the season even more.

Here are my top 5 organizing tips to prepare your home for the fall season:

1. Declutter Summer Items
Pack away summer clothing, gear, and accessories that won’t be needed until next year. Take the opportunity to donate or recycle anything that wasn’t used or loved this summer.

2. Create a Cozy Entryway
With boots, coats, and scarves coming back into rotation, it’s time to tidy up your entryway. Use bins, hooks, or a shoe rack to keep everything neatly in place.

3. Organize Your Kitchen for Fall Cooking
Prepare for hearty meals by organizing your pantry and kitchen. Clear out expired items, and make room for fall staples like canned goods, spices, and baking supplies.

4. Refresh Your Linen Closet
Swap out light summer bedding for warmer blankets and quilts. Use this time to declutter old towels or linens that are worn out and make space for fresh, cozy options.  Donate unneeded and worn towels to your local animal shelter and recycle the rest at a textile recycling bin.

5. Tidy Up Outdoor Spaces
Before winter arrives, organize your outdoor spaces. Store away summer furniture and tools, and tidy up your garage or shed so everything is easily accessible when needed.

A little effort now can lead to a more relaxing, clutter-free fall season.
