Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is Saturday, April 28, 2012
Spring is a great time to get organized and don’t forget to include your medicine cabinet! Prescription medications thrown in the trash or flushed down the toilet can end up contaminating our soil and water supply.
Americans that participated in the DEA’s third National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on October 29, 2011 turned in more than 377,086 pounds (188.5 tons) of unwanted or expired medications for safe and proper disposal.
Secure and responsible disposal of unused drugs is important in keeping our homes safe and organized. You can find more information on collection centers in your area on the Drug Enforcement Agency website.
